FATV facilitated financial aid content in Spanish for University of California, Merced native Spanish speakers and their families.

Location:

Merced, CA

School Type:

4 Year Public School

Enrollment:

6,600

Started FATV:

2010

Dilemma:

With a significant population of students speaking Spanish at home, University of California, Merced wanted to offer financial aid content in Spanish.

GetAnswers Results:

Before UC Merced even completed its marketing campaign to advertise the availability of Spanish financial aid content, students and their families had already discovered it.   Students are toggling back and forth between English and Spanish to have conversations about financial aid with family members.

More than a third of students enrolled at UC Merced speak a language other than English in their home.  As a designated Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), we recently adopted FATV’s Spanish internationalization to better serve our students and their families.  We are very excited about this new functionality, and are working to create a marketing campaign to advertise it to our students.
